The ultimate superstar ingredient
Vitamin C — when formulated properly — can help tackle hyperpigmentation, dullness, uneven skin tone, redness, loss of firmness, wrinkles, and more!
However, poorly formulated Vitamin C can irritate skin, oxidize quickly, have a tanning effect on skin, or just simply won’t work.
That’s why we crafted Transparen-C Pro Spot Treatment with a potent, stable, gentle, and clinically proven Vitamin C derivative called Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (“Vitamin C ATIP”), so you don’t have to worry about any of these adverse effects. You can simply focus on furthering your Glass Skin Goals, achieving your healthiest skin yet.
Let’s unpack the benefits of using Transparen-C:
Tackling hyperpigmentation
ATIP in our Transparen-C has been clinically proven to inhibit the formation of hyperpigmentation. Whether you have dark spots, red spots, melasma, small spots, or larger discolored areas and whether they're from age, the sun or blemishes, they all stem from overactive melanocytes that ATIP helps calm by inhibiting this overproduction. Ultimately, for any form of hyperpigmentation, Transparen-C delivers visible and rapid results without irritating skin.
We love pairing Transparen-C with Glass Skin Refining Serum because they offer different benefits for incredible support of your healthy skin goals. When it comes to hyperpigmentation specifically, Niacinamide (found in the serum) and Vitamin C ATIP work in different, but complimentary, ways to visibly brighten and fade dark spots.
Tackling overall glow and skin tone evenness
While Transparen-C is a concentrated treatment for tackling hyperpigmentation, it's gentle enough to apply to the whole face if you're dealing with all-over dullness or uneven skin tone. A little goes a long way and Vitamin C ATIP will work to give you a radiant, even glow from the inside out.
Tackling redness
Vitamin C ATIP is also shown to fortify skin. Transparen-C can help strengthen capillaries and deliver anti-inflammatory benefits, helping to combat redness or signs of rosacea. Pair with the Niacinamide found in our Glass Skin Refining Serum to see rapid results.
Tackling loss of firmness, lines, wrinkles
Vitamin C ATIP is clinically proven to boost collagen production to help target lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness. Again, while this is a targeted treatment for hyperpigmentation, it can be applied to the whole face, if desired. And a little does a lot!
Tackling breakouts
Transparen-C is lightweight, fast-absorbing and uses non-pore-clogging ingredients. The silky texture feels somewhere between a serum and a light oil and sinks right into skin. A foundational cause of breakouts can be related to inflammation, which can then lead to a chain reaction of increased sebum and less dead skin cell turnover — all resulting in clogged pores. Vitamin C ATIP has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, so it can help curb back breakouts, and of course target those pesky blemish scars.
Incorporating Transparen-C into your routine
An easy way to build your skincare routine is to start with the foundational Glass Skin Routine for all skin types —- easily bundled in the Glass Skin Discovery Kit — which has been crafted to give your skin everything from hydration to antioxidants to soothers to firming ingredients.
You would then apply Transparen-C right before or after the Glass Skin Refining Serum once a day, morning or night (either is great!), applied to the areas you’d like to target!
Bottom line: if you want rapid, visible results for the skin concerns above areas, Transparen-C can be easily incorporated into your foundational Glass Skin Routine or daily skincare routine to give you a powerful (but gentle!) boost.
Transparency: Why we chose Vitamin C ATIP
Vitamin C vs. Vitamin C derivatives
Quick context! Vitamin C in its pure form is called L-Ascorbic Acid. The downside to using this pure form is that it can turn brown and oxidize quickly, losing its efficacy, isn’t the best at penetrating skin, and can have temporary tanning effects. This is why Vitamin C derivatives were developed; to increase stability and penetration while preserving all the benefits.
Absorption is key
Both Vitamin C and Vitamin C derivatives need to penetrate into skin in order to be effective. Transparen-C’s ATIP is lipid-soluable, and goes one step further with bended molecular arms for deeper absorption. Both Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai in New York City, and cosmetic chemist Ginger King, shared with Allure that indeed, ATIP absorbs faster and more deeply into the skin than THD Ascorbate, a "close cousin."
Vitamin C ATIP is clinically proven
We love that ATIP has clinical studies that prove it can powerfully help with inhibiting the formation of hyperpigmentation, boost collagen production for firmer and smoother-looking skin, provide anti-inflammatory benefits, fortify skin and fight off free radical damage as a powerful antioxidant.
