The Challenge with Breakouts
When it comes to breakouts, we understand the challenge. Too aggressive, then the blemish is dried out but so is the rest of your skin. Too gentle, then the blemish isn’t addressed and continues down its lifecycle and leaves the invariable blemish scarring.
Then, there’s the matter of various stages of the blemish. The underground, blind pimples can stay buried for a while – and they can be hard to reach and address. And of course, after the pimple resolves, there’s the, at times, long-lasting dark or red spot.
The Blemish Solution
We wanted to address these specific, challenging elements of dealing with blemishes head-on. We set out to create a solution that would 1) precisely target underground blemishes and 2) speed up the recovery process of the blemish after-math. We also wanted to ensure that the solution would be not too much or not too little – essentially, targeting the blemish or blemish dark spots with the right level of action.
The first part of the solution comes from the formula. When it comes to blemishes, we believe, it’s not enough to only apply an active like salicylic acid. A hydrating base is foundational to ensure there is no stripping of skin. Secondly, supporting ingredients that help soothe and reduce signs of inflammation is also important. Enter, our Deep Blemish Microdarts formula comprised of a base of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate skin; salicylic acid, willow bark extract and tea tree oil to help unclog pores and combat the blemishes; and cica and niacinamide to visibly calm skin.
For blemish scarring, the same principle also applies here. We believe it’s not enough to only apply brightening ingredients. Hydration is also key here because dehydrated skin actually can have a harder time having over-activated melanocytes calm its activity; thereby, continuing to produce the extra melanin in those areas resulting in stubborn dark spots. And similarly, ingredients that help calm can be helpful. All of this is found in our Dark Spot Microdarts formula comprised of a base of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate skin; niacinamide, vitamin C and licorice to help fade the look of dark spots rapidly; and cica to help visibly soothe skin.
The second part of the solution comes from the delivery mechanism. We wanted to craft a super efficient and effective way to deliver these ingredients precisely.
The Technology
For this micro-targeted and effective precise delivery to the targeted area, we crafted Microdart patches.
How does this work? Our Microdarts themselves are where the formula is held. These Microdarts are then precisely crafted to be not too sharp or not too blunt. They’re sharp enough to sink past the top layer of dead skin cells, but without being painful or too much.
Perfecting this took many iterations and testing, and requires extremely high-tech machinery to achieve this outcome. But, we kept going until we perfected our Microdarts because our skin deserves the best.
Once these Microdarts are pressed onto the skin, our Microdarts and the formula it holds self-dissolves into skin within 120 minutes.
Since the self-dissolving Microdarts essentially hold the formula, the number of Microdarts on each individual patch is important. Too few Microdarts and not enough formula is being delivered to skin. We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to include 176 Microdarts on each patch – one of the highest count of all “microneedle” blemish patches.
Once we perfected the formula, the shape of our Microdarts, the self-dissolving element and the density of Microdarts per patch, we wanted to take an extra step for you. The high-technology necessitated a high price point per patch. To make this as accessibly priced as possible, we excluded middlemen, we worked closely with the manufacturer to find smart ways to make more patches per day, to bring our Microdarts patches to one of the most accessibly priced out of all “microneedle” blemish patches.

The results
We put our Microdart patches to the test with a third party study, and the results speak for themselves!
- 98% said blemish was smaller, calmer and less red, less painful, and less distressed within 48 hours
- 97% said it reversed journey and reduced lifetime of blemish to prevent a more intense breakout
- 95% saw early-stage and underground blemishes disappear within 72 hours
